Admiral Yi Sun-sin is a great hero of Joseon who sacrificed his body for his nation and laid down his life for the people.

When he was first appointed as a military official, his capabilities as a general were proven as he defended the northern lands. However, due to his upright personality and strong beliefs, he lost his position due to his jealous enemies and fought alongside the people.

In the year 1591, he was appointed as the Jeollajwa-do Navy Admiral. His many accomplishments as the Jeollajwa-do Navy Admiral helped him become Joseon’s first Navy Admiral of Three Provinces. However, even afterward, he was interrogated harshly due to the jealous and envious members of the royal court and almost lost his life.

However, he protected his nation and its people due to his loyalty. Yi Sun-sin was a level-headed commander who spent many nights awake to make one decision, but also was a devoted son whose love for his mother was rivaled by no one. The eternal hero Yi Sun-sin, who loved the Joseon people but was fair with principles, is now a part of Uncharted Waters Origin.
